Suicide Shower

For those not aquainted with what we fondly refer to as a suicide shower I thought I'd add a few pic's. You only find these in really budget hotels - definitly not upscale places like where we stayed in Medellin - but they can still be found in some of the more rural locations. It's basically a small in-line heater. Note the wiring and remember, you're standing in a puddle of water in a country that has no codes to speak of and GFI outlets are pretty rare. In Nicaragua I was in a shower and the water went cold. I reached up to hit a switch without thinking and the shock almost blew me out of the shower. Needless to say, we treat these with a LOT of respect.
